Mark Drummond spent 15 years as a Verizon executive before founding Backyard Playground in 2005 with a simple premise: families deserve a playset designed for their yard and their kids — not a box-store kit hammered together in an afternoon. Every set is manufactured by hand in our shops and installed by our CPSI-certified team.
Two manufacturing shops and 3,200+ custom designs later, that premise still drives everything we do — we route and sand every board smooth, recess every bolt, and don't leave your yard until it's perfect.
Built with arsenate-free pressure-treated Southern Pine, 4×4 and 4×6 framing with the industry's thickest side rails, and hot-dipped galvanized carriage bolts and hex lags — never nails, staples, or brads.
